BAILIWICK

WORD: BAILIWICK

MEANING:
1. (Law) law the area over which a bailiff has jurisdiction
2. a person's special field of interest, authority, or skill
3. territory, realm, beat

EXAMPLE/USAGE:
1. One of my personal bailiwicks is cross-disciplinary pollination: the interesting things that happen when ideas or patterns from one field are carried over and adapted in another.     
2. Arguing cases in front of the Supreme Court isn't his bailiwick
